In this comprehensive course, you will learn: (1) Family and Friends CPR which teaches the lifesaving skills of adult Hands-Only CPR, adult CPR with breaths, child CPR with breaths, adult and child AED use, infant CPR, and mild and severe airway block for adults, children, and infants. (2) Child care skills like how to manage behavior, basic infant care like diapering and feeding, and important developmental milestones. (3) First Aid skills such as choking rescue and how to respond to injuries and illness. (4) Safety skills that teach you how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures and weather emergencies. (5) Life and business skills like how to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers.
Students who complete the course will earn a certificate from Safe Sitter, a national nonprofit organization specializing in babysitting training for preteens and teens using guidelines from the American Academy of Pediatrics and the American Heart Association.
